Balinese Temple OfferingsBali has more temples than there are days in the year and there seems to be a temple ceremony going on in at least one of them at any time. First head to Titra Empul and leisurely visit the temple grounds and bathing area.
Then head to the mystic Gunung Kawi, where shrines have been cut into the bare rocks. You'll only reach this temple by going down many steps (so bring sensible footwear and enough water, as you need to get back up to thPura Tanah Lote steps after your visit).
Before heading back south, you might opt for visiting one of the local Gamelan workshops.
Optionally, you could now head for Pura Tanah Lot, one of the most spectacular sea temples in Bali (which will also give you a chance to stock up on souvenirs).

Trip suggestion 5 - To the north

Pura Ulun Dau BratanThis is a long trip, so allow enough time and expect to be in the car most of the day. We are heading for Danau Bratan, the beautiful lake in the northern part of Bali. Here you can visit the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, with its scenic setting right next to the lake.
On the way to and back from the lake you will see some of the most beautiful rice fields and landscapes on Bali. Stop for coffee or lunch in oneButterfly in Taman Kupu Kupu butterfly park of the mountain restaurants while glimpsing the distant volcano Gunung Batur.
If time allows, a stop at the Taman Kupu Kupu butterfly park gives you a chance to see some of Bali's beautiful butterflies and interesting insects.
